This presentation has been given at SHARE, CMG, IBM Technical conferences and many user groups. Managing performance and capacity planning is taken for granted on mainframes. But managing zLinux running on z/VM has a new set of challenges. Many of the challenges are based on lack of education, or even proper research. This presentation was created to assist new installations (and many old ones) by providing a set of best practices, and the reasons for those best practices.
