zOPERATOR Compare

Feature comparison martix including zOPERATOR from Velocity Software

Velocity Software's zOPERATOR is a function that is included with zVPS.

This comparison against Operations Manager from IBM and VM:Operator from Broadcom is intended to help customers understand the differences between the various products.

zOPERATOR provides message management features for z/VM. Console messages can be colored, held, highlighted. Actions can be taken when a certain message text appears on the console.

These functions don't only work on z/VM messages. Any virtual machine that directs its console traffic to OPERATOR will benefit. Including Linux on IBM Z, VSE (either z/VSE or VSEn from 21st Century Software), or z/OS. Messages from other virtual machines don't have to be directed to OPERATOR, any other long running virtual machine can be used as a message consolidator with zOPERATOR running on it.
