All records have the following standard header. This is the normal 10.2 record layout.

Data types are Character, accumulating, current state, or delta values.
- Character values are ebcidic, as is
- Accumulating values are counters from which the delta from two intervals represents the data. These are represented in character format in this documentation.
- Current state represents current status, such as SWAP USED. This will be represented as BINARY FIXED(31) in this documentation
- Delta Value represents the data. All CPU values will be delta values representing the CPU used during the interval. This data is represented as Binary Float(21) in this documentation
