The zVPS Report Manager | The zMAP component of zVPS that analyzes performance data and creates clear, detailed reports for analysis. |
zMAP is designed to efficiently store, retrieve and report on monitor data for capacity planning and long-term performance trending analysis. As new systems and applications are introduced into the z/VM environment, zMAP creates new reports to reflect the new performance information. zMAP analyzes and reports on z/VM, Linux, VSEn, z/OS systems and many applications such as MongoDB, OpenShift and Docker. zMAP creates hundreds of daily reports broken down in 15 minute increments. Reports are based on virtual servers and groups of severs to easily detect when and where any issues may have started and the performance of a specific server and/or application.
Features and Benefits:
- zMAP provides a comprehensive set of hundreds of reports from high-level to detailed subsystem information.
- zMAP is easy to use. Reports are presented in an intuitive hierarchy which is ideal for tuning and capacity planning.
- zMAP utilizes the comprehensive history files for the ability to do long term system trending analysis and/or extract specific servers/components for a customized detailed analysis.
- zMAP uses a standard interface based on the CP monitor facility. It is easy to install and does not have any 'hooks' into CP so it does not need to be upgraded with z/VM. Releases of zMAP are always ready for new releases of z/VM and backward compatible with all supported releases of z/VM.
- zMAP works with zTUNE to produce reports that provide AI tuning recommendations based on years of performance expertise.
- zMAP is a low-cost, easy to use product that uses very few resources (usually less than 1%) to run. It dynamically reduces the raw monitor data into history files - using very little DASD, which allows for more data to be kept for trending purposes.
- zMAP reports show Linux process information via Velocity provided MIBs which give more information than any other product.
